Dallas Park Board  Meetings

The Dallas Parks Advisory Board consists seven community members from the City of Dallas and Polk County. The board meets on a monthly basis to discuss issues facing the park system.  The planning team facilitated four meetings with the Board to discuss findings from the planning process and receive their feedback.

MEETING #1 - PARKS MASTER PLAN KICK-OFF MEETING

July 15th, 2015
5:30 - 6:30pm
The Community Planning Workshop shared their vision for the Parks Master Plan process and gathered feedback from your local Park Board Members.
In an opening exercise, we asked the Dallas Parks Board Members to complete the following sentences.

Dallas Parks Board - Meeting Minutes (July 15th, 2014)

MEETING #2 - vision & goals meeting

September 30th, 2014
5:30 - 7:30pm 
The Community Planning Workshop shared results from the community involvement process, worked with the Parks Board on drafting a mission statement for Dallas Parks as well as park system goals and action items for the twenty-year planning period and discussed the design program for Kingsborough Park.

MEETING #3 - kingsborough park design concept meeting

October 21st, 2014
5:30 - 7:30pm 
The Community Planning Workshop presented three design concept alternatives for Kingsborough Park and gathered feedback from the parks board in order to synthesize the feedback into one final design.

MEETING #4 - recommendations meeting

November 18th, 2014
5:30 - 7:30pm 
The Parks Board finished drafting the mission statement, made final recommendations for park system goals and action items, and started working towards defining the level of service the City of Dallas should aim towards in the parks system.  The Community Planning Workshop presented a synthesized design concept for Kingsborough Park including 3-dimensional perspective drawings and received the endorsement of the parks board.
