the parks master plan project

Parks and recreation facilities are key services that can enhance a community’s overall quality of life and sense of place.
The purpose of a comprehensive Parks Master Plan is to prepare a guiding vision for the parks system and provide focus and direction for future park system efforts.

Planning for the future

The City currently maintains and operates eight parks, a trail system along Rickreall Creek, a disc golf course, and several recreation facilities. However, Dallas does not currently have a strategic master plan for park development and improvements.

During the next 20 years, the City of Dallas is expected to experience a significant population increase. Developing a Parks Master Plan will ensure the City is better prepared to meet the recreational needs of existing residents and future generations.
